CNPS9500 Query

is can you securely attach a zalman CNPS9500 on LGA775 with only two of the four screws?

9500 is almost exactly *** same as 9700 but a bit smaller. I fitted a 9700 yesterday on a Gigabyte P35-DS4 (which is 775).

It requires 4 screws to hold the Zalman mounting plate onto the motherboard and 2 screws to attach the copper cooler/fan mechanism onto the mounting plate. The copper cooler is so heavy that you will defintely need all those screws or else it won't mount properly and kaboom goes your CPU.

damn, i have two of the mounting screws and the two screws to hold it on the rendition mechanism, i appear to be missing two screws, how is the stock C2D cooler?

More than adequate.

Het yourself down B+Q and buy some of the screws (acually bolts) and hacksaw them to size. Cost you a quid at the most.
