So, my motherboard is in my sig.

Question is, why won't Cool n Quiet work? As soon as I turn on the PC, my fan revs up and is pretty loud. I checked CPUz and instead of being decreased clocks, the CPU is at it's full, as if Cool and Quiet was off.

I went into BIOS, from Auto set it to Enabled to reduce the noise, restarted, but it doesnt seem to work.

Any ideas ?

Looks like you're overclocked. My motherboard won't let my 965 run with CnQ when OC'd, may well be the same case for yours too, even though it's newer.

So basically if im Overclocked which I am, there's no way for quiet fan at startup without going stock ?

It doesn't bother me that moch, just thought it was strange

CoolnQuiet is not related to fan speeds. It clocks the CPU multi down to x4 when the CPU is idle. This reduces idle temps and so makes the computer cooler it also indirectly allows it to be quieter (because the fans do not have to run so fast).

The fan speed controls will be a different BIOS setting. If you get no where with BIOS give speedfan a go.

Ah, my bad then. Thought aswell as moving the clocks down, which means less heat, I thought it also meant slower fan rotation.

I tried in BIOS, I couldn't find anything ?
