Is a .co suitable for a main domain for a business?

The name I want is taken on everything except .co, so I have a choice between taking the .co, or thinking up a new name which I can get a .com for.

So should I be gunning for a .com, or would a .co suffice these days?

Sounds like there's a very high chance that your viewers could end up on the wrong page as most peeps go for .co.uk or .com without thinking... I'd go for a different name personally.

Yeah that's what I was concerned about. Although none of the other domains are competitors, so people would quickly realise their mistake and correct it... Maybe...

I wish choosing one were that easy. :D

I would personally get a .com since its the most popular name extension in the world. Also, I heard somewhere that Google favours the .com, not sure about this but I'm sure I saw a discussion about it somewhere.
