Richard Mason, the co-founder of moneysupermarket.com raised three sons as his own for 21 years and was somewhat nonplussed to discover he had actually been infertile since birth. He discovered the children weren’t actually his when doctors diagnosed him with cystic fibrosis two years ago. The disease prevents male sufferers from fathering children and it is reported that DNA tests have confirmed Mr Mason’s worst fears.

Following the shock discovery, his former wife Kate was ordered to pay $446,000 for her deceit.
MeToo enthusiasts must be having a laugh . . . they should organise a whip-round :)

Firstly, thanks for posting an RSS thread :)

Legal papers seen by The Mail on Sunday reveal that, when she became pregnant with the first child, Mrs Mason declared a sudden interest in Judaism and also insisted all three children were given Jewish middle names. She also refused to have them christened.

Mr Mason, from Rhos, North Wales, believes it is a clue to the identity of the real father, but he is tortured by not knowing who he is and has called on his ex-wife to admit the truth if only for the sake of her sons.

Gotta wonder why he didn't think that was a bit strange... I mean when you're naming kids would you not usually consider family names or names relative to your cultural heritage? Yet suddenly she takes an interest in Judaism, gives them Jewish names and doesn't want them to be christened.

I guess he is well aware of the religion of the suspected father/ex boyfriend given this hint is being dropped in the article.

446,000 payout? Would he get a payment if he lived here?

He does live here.

I’m sure the payout will serve him well in his alcohol fuelled spiral into hell.

If he already sort of knew then he may be okay but that would be enough to ruin most men if it came out of the blue.

He's a multi millionaire so the payout will make little difference to his life other than some satisfaction at his ex wife paying a financial settlement for what she did.

He didn't already sort of know, it did come out of the blue after he was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis and found out that people with that condition are infertile.

Given that medical condition and that he's probably only got a few years before he's dependent on oxygen to breath I suspect he won't be binge drinking.

He might have had a shot at a child with his current partner via IVF if he'd known sooner but she's now been diagnosed with cancer and the chemo has caused an early menopause.

Those all sound like some hellish reasons for a mid-end of life crisis.

I don't understand the reference to the Metoo movement, this guy wasn't sexually harrassed or assaulted.

His wife played away from home and lied in the most disgusting way possible.

I think the $ thing is misleading. As far as I can see this is a UK case.

But yes, AIUI in the past at any rate, the CSA has had a policy of demanding payments from Men even when it has been proven that the children are not theirs. So this is an interesting case.

Man's worse nightmare, rise kids which turn out not to be your own which ends the path of your bloodline.

Do pwople really care about their bloodline? I have no intention of having children but I don’t believe people do in order to continue their bloodline.

Yes they do. Otherwise we would randomly give out new born children to any mother in the hospital.

"He's the real father, the one that brought the child up" strangely does not apply to mothers if they were given random children to bring up as theirs in the maternity ward.

But.......but...... "Believe All Women" and if you dare ask for evidence you're a hateful misogynist.

I feel massively sorry for the guy, especially after two of his "sons" have taken their mother's side and stopped talking to him after he sued her for her appalling lies.
