Is it just me or is co-op gaming really strong atm ? I come from a pretty competitive mp background like cs and Starcraft 2 amongst others... But just recently I find myself playing alongside people more then against them ... Diablo 3 , destiny on the ps4, with games like dying light, far cry 4, little big planet coming out it's only going to get better too ... And not to mention all the co-op games I play on the wii u with the girlfriend ..

I come from a competitive gaming background also with CSS etc... Really like the way console devs are implementing co-op more into there games, makes the games more enjoyable and more worth while buying. I have always said, a game in this current gen without co-op or online play is unacceptable, it has got to be standard.

Its a great move to the right direction and something that has been forgotten in the past generation with a few exceptions (halo games). I miss couch co-op a lot when i plaid last year halo4 with my gf it was wow. Or Baldur's gate dark alliance in PS2. I miss that type of gaming. I just wish there was a split screen mode for Destiny

I'm very pleased that co-op is coming back a lot these days. In the past we used to even play single player games in the same room with multiple Tv's/consoles (like FF7) and it was great fun. Obviously that's not very feasible these days as we are all older.
Would love to do it with Dark Souls 2 though. lol.
I do like competative multiplayer - but even then only when I team up with my mates. I also like competative between friends. Looking forward to 6 of us playing free-for-all on Destiny and we had good laughs with the likes of Bombermand and Towerfall Ascension.
Dead Island 2 and Dying Light will probably get me buying a 2nd PS4 so I can play co-op with my wife. We did this with PS3 and played the likes of RE5/6 (even though they sucked), Red Alert 3, Dead Island etc.
Can't wait for more to come out in the future.

If anything I hope co-op games become more prevalent and more involved. Too many of them play like two people playing single player at the same time. More skills that help other players out, or compliment their skills would be nice. A game built entirely around co-op would be great.

I think halo 4 felt like that. Halo 3 i felt that we were 2 different heroes but in halo 4 there where 2 master chiefs
.But for example resident evil 5 and 6 was very enjoyable as a couch coop game with different characters - i enjoyed the games but in my mind they were spin offs of the main 1, 2 ,3

To me there should be a lot of couch co-op support especially for the consoles. I understand the pc's are different because you sit alone at your desk but consoles are at the living room with people around.
Nintendo managed to make coop games that i would never think would be able to be coop (Donkey Kond wii u, kirby, mario etc sidescrolling games). To be fair though coop play of Donkey kong is a ticket straight to a mental institute, or a divorce/break up or a broken tv depending on the person you are playing with.
PC wise though I miss the days when i was running countless DOTA matches with my friends at my place, me on desktop and them on laptops

Quite a few people wanting more local co op games and as said it's hard with the pc, reminded me when I used to lug my machine up to my friends house so we could play cs in the same room haha them were the days

Yes but for example look at destiny right? Still you would have to have 2 consoles 2 tvs 2 games for you and another person to play in the house and that might have not be next to next. I really like what they did with diablo and now i despise the fact that i have it for the pc. More couch coop games please
