I thought i'd jump on the bandwagon - I start as a Co-Responder tomorrow! 
Slightly different due to our location - we have a 4x4 ambulance, but no hospital apart from a small facility on another island, and anything serious means getting the air ambulance out for a medivac.
It's a small island, but a max population of 1100 including tourists. Summer usually sees 1-7 call outs a week.
