How do.
Been watching some YouTube videos on how to fit my new coax cable to a faceplate. Just bought 50m of WF100 to replace some very old RG6 outside (going to two rooms) which has perished. I'm happy enough on how to do the faceplate inside, even bought a proper cutter tool but I guess a knife would have sufficed (but nice to have proper tools for the job).
At the other end it will connect into a booster with a regular male coax plug. I bought the cablecon 2 part twist on plug. I think I'll be OK to link to this but let me know if I need to remove it - https://www.cables4all.co.uk/cablecon-tv-coax-plug-suitable-for-tv-aerial-cables-3884-p.asp
I'm just stumped on how this fits to the cable. My assumption is the plug seperates, the silver part and the white part. I then twist the white part over the cable and it'll cut in and secure itself. My question is, how long do I make the copper core stick out. I'm guessing there'll be a hole inside the silver part so that when reattached back together the copper core fits inside and makes contact? I could go and take a look at the plug but it is in the shed and raining lol but thought I'd ask here. Don't want to bodge it and fit it incorrectly after buying nice new cable. Struggled to find a YouTube video on this as they were all fastening F-Type connectors which isn't what I'm after here.
Anyone able to just shed any light on how this two part screw on connector goes together please?
Cheers.
