If you like a Mojita then a caiprinha is often a good bet aswell. If you don't have any Cachaca then you can make a Caiprivodka which uses vodka (surprisingly)
Also there are some apps you can get where you enter all the things you have (booze, mixers etc) and it'll give you recommendations. A good way to explore.
Yep, done the supermarket and internet guides, always good to get some real experience though
For infused options do people make there own or buy them, I would like to try and make the following but not sure if I should source some already chilli infused gin or just make some.
THE ROMAN
Infused chilli gin interlaced with lychee liqueur, cranberry juice and lychee all juxtaposed with a spicy chilli.
One of my favourites to make is a passionfruit mojito. A pornstar is always a good shout too for a shorter drink, swap the champagne for prosecco or ditch it all together. I used to work in a bar so a fair few are just in my mind now. However most home cocktail sets will come with a book which is always handy.
We also have a big drinks dispenser that if im doing a bbq will just do a classic pimms lemonade and all the fruit.
Supplies is just any supermarket. You'll find some of the more specialised liquors and things you've never heard of you'll likely find in waitrose.
Will take a look in waitrose, tried a couple of other big supermarkets and they didn't have the syrups etc, I grabbed some chilli earlier so will see how how the chilli infused gin goes
A really simple large jug one that always goes down well at our BBQs is a variant on a Dark & Stormy:
1ltr ginger ale (or ginger beer if you want a stronger taste)
3-4 shots of lime juice
ice
slices of oranges
then add dark rum until it's as strong as you like (we do 1/4 of a 35cl bottle per 1.5ltr jug)
optional extra of adding a few dashes of bitters in people's glasses
For a one glass cocktail, I'm always fond of a Whisky Sour (with Maple Syrup instead of the sugar)... very refreshing when you're eating hot & spicy BBQ food.
Tried some homemade chilli infused vodka and gin over the weekend, worked well although I will use less chilli next time, or remove them sooner as it had quite a kick
