I don't get it, a black councillor calls an Asian woman a coconut and is convicted of racial harassment. On the radio this morning they interviewed some people from Bristol, presumably black, who all said that the term coconut was derogatory to varying degrees. Apparently it means that you are black on the outside but white on the inside, but surely being white on the inside would be a good thing, meaning you have properly integrated yourself in your host country's culture?
