Cod 2 help please

I have an x2900xt, an e6400@3Ghz and 2Gb of OCZ gold 800mhz and i cannot for the life of me get cod 2 above a 50 odd fps average at 1280x1024 on max settings.
Surely with this set up it should be able to do that with ease? I can get higher frames in bioshock!
It did the same with my x1900xt as well

Do u have vsync on.
Also even the 8800GTX doesnt get much over 60fps.

ah ok, so its fair enough not to expect stupidly high framerates. incredible for a 2005 game :eek:

LOL yer but it still looks good and it doesnt give huge hits when turning on aa and af.

Also, I remember reading somewhere - quick google isnt returning it, but try turning off 'Optimize for SLI mode' in the graphics settings - there's about a 15-20% FPS increase for doing so I believe.

That's the one...and Vsync disabled...I also played the single player in DX9 and multiplayer in DX7 which grabs back some frames

Also there is a command you can type into the console which sets the fps to unlimited (can't remember what this is at the moment, but there was a tweak guide on t'web some time back with these details)

dx7 is for multiplayer, cap at 125 fps or 250 if you can get it, /com_maxfps 125, dx9 for single player, and yea maxed out its low fps on the best machines.
