COD 4 accounts?

How do the COD 4 accounts work on PC?

Are they linked to a cd key? Do you sign in?

I will be playing COD 4 on my PC at home but am wondering if I would ever be able to use account that I rank up else where?

Will I be able to use it at e.g. a Lan centre or my mates house?

i think it works on a profile base on the local machine

i played it for a while b4 i had to reformat and i lost all my XP so and to start from scratch.

i have never logged in or signed up for anything with cod4.

as for cd key couldn't tell you.

So in theory could you just copy and paste those files on a memory stick and take them around with you? :confused:

umm not tried it but i suppose it could be done if you knew where the files were.

i could be wrong tho

Yeah you can back them up if you say, format. Don't know if the XP/account will work with another CD-KEY. But you can change that in the menu very easily anyway - just remember to delete it after you finish.

yes but your key is in the profile and there are tools around to access that key, so take care where you copy it to.

in xp your profile is found in:
\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\players\profiles\<yourProfileName>\
and it's the file called mpdata
