Need a new card for cod multi player, not bothered about massive fps but dont want drops below 85.

Playing on 22 inch monitor.

Thinking 2x 8800gt 256mb sli or single 4850 both about same price,120 ish budget.

Any ideas.

Just get a 4850...two 256mb 8800GTs would be a waste of money.

COD5 uses the same engine as COD4, which was pretty scaleable.

why have a limit :p I go well over 125 most of the time....especially in maps like broadcast. I think I got almost 200fps average once on that map with 8xAA and everything maxed out

limit to 101 fps is the best without the limit if fps jumps form 80~200 then back down it causes not so smooth game play

I suppose you have a point, but tbh I have never noticed any lack of smoothness jumping from 90ish to 150ish

It's to do with 'magic' framerates. It's an exploit from the quake days.
