Where is the file located to backup the profile for COD4 multiplayer? cheers.

On which OS?

In vista its in /users/<you>/appdata/local/virtualstore/activision, In XP it will be somewhere inside prog files/activision/cod4 most likely.

What i tend to do it just copy all of it, that way you keep the single player savegames, the MP ranks and all your controls and graphical settings.

Out of interest, where actually is it in XP?

in your players folder theres a folder with your name on it, copy that or the whole players folder either will work. When you reinstall start a game then come out and you should find the players folder you can then replace.
