cod 4 crashing

hi all,
tried activision and so forth but still at a loss of why cod4 keeps on crashing.tried running as under xp sp1 and sp2 to no avail.don,t want to reinstall unless i really have to.here is the report that generates when cod 4 crashes windows (ultimate )

why dont you want to re-install?
its the easiest option

try updaing pb.or if you have a backup of your player folder just swap it for the corrupted one.failing that save your mp.data file in player profiles and reinstall.

delete your punkbuster folder, then download pbsetup.exe from evenbalance.

Also download the punkbuster service checker here http://http://www.evenbalance.com/downloads/pbsvc/pbsvc.exe

also make sure pba and pbb are allowed through your firewall.

After doing all 3 of the above. restart your computer and see if problem is gone

thanks guys removed pb and reinstalled every thing sweet running on vista ultimate average fps 360 ish

I seem to get 80 fps 1280x1024 all maxed with AA and AF, I doubt u can have more than 170 ish...

i read it off screen by using the /com_maxfps command in console,is there a better way to gauge online fps? playin on asus mw221u 22",same res as you,everything else turned down low or off,
