I bought COD4 a couple of weeks ago and while I have improved over time I still keep getting wasted and seem out of my depth against some players. At the moment I am using a Microsoft optical mouse and wondered if I would gain by buying a better mouse ? If yes then can anyone recommend me some good choices ?

Thanks

Wouldnt tweaking be seen as a cheat and be picked up by punkbuster ? I want to play by the rules and was hoping a better mouse might get my aiming a bit more upto speed because at the moment I seem to get blasted a lot more than I blast !! Will take a look at the mouse brands you mention.

Hmm never really thought of the frames per second performance . I am running a oldish ati x800 gto2 with a amd 4200 dual core 939 cpu. Dont tell me a upgrade is required lol !

ps is there anyway of checking the fps that my system returns on cod4 ?

i have the logitech G9 its a bit pricey but imo its well worth it fantastic mouse

I bought the G9 mouse today and my COD4 accuracy has improved in the first couple of games I have just played :D. One problem though is I downloaded the setpoint software off the Logitech website for 32bit xp and when I install the app there is nothing at all in the programfiles\logitech folder, the installer does not even make the folder even though it is set to use this default folder on my c drive ? Any ideas on why this is happening ? I have downloaded the G9 software twice to make sure I have got the right program.

sorry cant help you, i installed setpoint from the disk on my laptop 32bit vista and on my pc 64bit vista and had no problems

My G9 did not come with any install cd and just gave directions to the Logitech website. I have turned off my antivirus and firewall just to see if they where stopping the install for some reason but this did nothing. Mouse is working fine but it would be nice to get the setpoint software working !

Ps I am using a Shuttle sn25p if that gives anyone any ideas

That is strange. I downloaded mine as well and it installed fine to
C:\Program Files\Logitech\SetPoint II

If I can find it, I can try making an iso of the disc for you if you want.

Thanks for that mate anything is worth a try. I have let the installer set its own install path and even directed it to a folder that I made on the c drive and nothing happens at all even though it says the install is complete ? I have followed all the tips on the Logitech website like swtiching firewall off etc and also doing a bare minimum startup and still nothing. If you could upload a iso to the web for me then that would be a great help.

Thanks

My main question is will the g9 perform to the best of its ability without the setpoint software ? I want it to be at its best in COD4 so if it is fine without the setpoint stuff then I can live without it I guess.
