cod 4 online lags every 20 secs

hi guys hoping someone can help.
specs in sig and use a wireless router also.

i can connect fine and play great for about 20 secs then i get lag which lasts for about 5 secs. the screen jumps back and forth in that time then usually sends me back slightly to where i was before the lag set in( maybe 1 seconds worth of play).
pressing tab shows me ping at 999 which i guess means zero 'bandwidth' at all. the 'connection failure' symbol appears on screen.
this then cycles all the time, every 20 secs or so.
i have kaspersky running so tried playing with it disabled, still the same.
tried with Kaspersky firewall running and also disabled it and ran with windows firewall. still the same.

incase it matters the only thing without drivers is my monitor, a Samsung syncmaster 913n. can't seem to find any vista drivers for it.

also it has only been happening since i went over to vista.

anyone got any ideas.

I get this aswell though not as frequently as every 20 seconds and it always starts ok and gets worse. I've yet to find a cause but I suspect that there's some Vista driver incompatibility causing it. For me it seems like a massive hard drive swap, which is strange as I have plenty of RAM.
 
wireless, with the usb dongle thingy.
would need a cable about 20m long to try it wired. don't know if you can get them that long.

first, usb is bad for data transfers like networking
second, wirelss is bad for data transfers!

think it's got something to do with the wireless zero config service, scanning for new networks, check the gaming forum and network forum for mre info
