been playing through cod 4 at the moment and although its an excellent game im a little dissapointed with the gfx. they look nice but seem to look way better in the screenshots of the reviews that ive read. so i start tinkering around with the gfx options and i notice most of them only go up to norma, there doesnt seem to be a 'high' option and im wondering if this is the same with everybodys copy? cheers

Yeah it's the same for me and I guess everyone, I have evrything maxed out and it looks pretty grand to me. Try tweaking stuff in your nvidia / ATI control panel to get that bit extra

what gfx card simoran?

ive got an x1900 and get the options of low > medium > high > extra.

when you say 'most' of the settings do you mean all or?? this section?:

The screenshot panic posted is from the texture settings menu. Simoran1 is refering to the number of dynamic lights, water and model settings (in the graphics menu), but you need to be running sli or xfire to unlock their highest settings, not sure if there's a workaround for non sli/xfire owners though?

you can play with these in mp_config.cfg

seta r_dlightlimit "0"//Number of dynamic lights (0 to 4)
seta r_picmip "3"//Texture Quality (0=Extra to 3=Low) - some servers require 2 or lower.
seta r_picmip_bump "3"//Bump Maps Quality, for relief textures (0=Extra to 3=Low)
seta r_picmip_spec "3"//Specular Map Quality, for lights (0=Extra to 3=Low)
seta r_picmip_water "0"//Water Quality (0=None 1=Normal)

as you can see water only only has 2 otpions anyway :/

however i cant really see those options making much difference, id say that if you dont think the game look sgood, then there is something else amis somewhere.
