The way I did it was dump him off then run down past the bumper cars and hide there to take the first few out. At 6k you get the first checkpoint. After checkpointing I ran all the way to the other end of the map past the guy you dumped and hid in the ticket booth. Lobbing out any grenades that came my way.

You team mate will work his way through them so eventually it lets up.

Then the chopper lands and I picked him up and ran back to the bumper cars, that way the chopper covers your entry.

Or this guy has found an easy way and place to hide...

I did it by dumping him on the hill and then getting on the ferris wheel platform behind the steel grating barriers. It was hard but with the help of C4, Claymores and shooting guys as they unload from the choppers it gets easier. I found focussing on the guys coming from the right helps as the other guys gets the left hand enemies a lot. Oh and use the AK a lot - it is pretty much one shot kills even on veteran.

Man that was so blooming hard. I must have spent 3 hours in total. Tried all that hidey stuff and just died. In the end I took out the far left and right choppers with my snipe, ran and got an ak then hung around the back of the bumper cars stunning and nading.. Even then i died 3 times just carrying my matey to the chopper. Pulled it off in the end but it was as much luck as skill. :-)
This is on vetran difficulty i might add.. I look forawrd to enjoying this game later at a reasonable difficulty setting.lol

Yeah It was a lot of luck for me on lots of levels. Currently on the war room and i'm not fast enough. I keep having to walk away for an hour or so to keep the frustration from biting me. I wont replay it again even for the stuff I missed. I'd have sold it already except i've come this far may as well try to finish it.

I had to do it that way in the end (as in the vid) as I counted, I tried it 50 times in total to no avail, and was getting mightly ****** off with it

and now I'm stuck on Heat LOL (the next mission) haha

I wish I could even get that far on Veteran, I'm stuck towards the beginning inside the TV station. So frustrating on this difficulty.

That was another ball ache too, It isnt a case of skill with veteran, its just finding invisible triggers, as it makes it very linear on how you have to do the level.

For instance on that TV station, as soon as i was entering the main TV room, i headed right, and kept getting killed, despite killing many enemies.

****SPOILER BELOW*****

I eventually found out, that was the "wrong way" to go.

1) To complete the mission I switched to shotgun, went directly forward to the little sub-office directly opposite the enterance to the TV room, (Where the enemies come from at the begining), get inside that room, this will stop them spawning there.

2) head right, through this office, you'll come to the exit of that sub-room, there is another office directly opposite, dispatch the enemies between you and that sub-office, then sprint out into that one, this triggers another invisible "stop enemies spawning" line, and some radio chatter,

3) then leave this 2nd sub office and next to it is a corridor, run into there, and dispatch a few more enemies from main TV room from in there, then some of your guys will turn up and open a door thats in that corridor

4) sigh of relief, it saves a checkpoint

Which bit after you have used the C4 and trying to get to the barn or before that?

erm, i've now got 10 airstrikes

the furthest I've got is;

****SPOILER BELOW*****

1) Airstrike near the barns your in to kill the initial enemies right on top of you.

2) Entered a barn to the right, looked out over a field, saw some more "forever spawning" enemies along a fenceline heading towards the barn i'm in, so I airstrike them

3) I headed out into that field, and I get enemy attacking from my left and north of me, so I airstrike them.

4) Moved up to a house at the edge of that field (it has a couple of dead cows by it)

5) Went across the road, some enemies spwan near a water tower, so i airstrike them,

6) i head down a path clinging to the wall, where there is a barn at the bottom of this slope (far right of the map) where i just end up getting shot to bits as I try to trigger and airstrike to get right of the enemies there

Cheers for all your help lol. I was ready to throw my xbox 360 out the window lol. It really is just luck with veteran mode. Its like you are against hackers lol :D

Unfortunately Luck is a big part of Veteran, and it forces you to keep pushing forwards other it just spams enemies at you.

Was the same in CoD, CoD2 and CoD3 - though in fairness this one is harder then i found the other 3

Cheers ljt, I am going the right way, I get into the office and get to the exit, but haven't yet managed to get over to the next office, to kill the re-spawn, end up getting shot, or surrounded by thrown grenades. Will have to have another go at it later.

if i remember rightly I chucked, 2 stun grenades just out the window into the gap between the two offices, followed by a frag grenade, then just legged it across lol

Ok, for heat:

From the barn - I move right through the hedge along to the house. From here i move down the hill, airstrike the downed helicopter and move past the left of the buntout building. I then clear the builing at the bottom of the hill above the petrol station. I then just leg it into the petrol station and hide in there until the chopper comes. Its pretty tough on Vet but the CP's are pretty close together... it gets a lot harder ;)
