COD: Advanced Warfighter...flying the plane

Hi all,
i'm on just about the last mission i think and i'm 'trying' to fly that damned plane through the canyons.
But i can't seem to configure my settings so that the mouse pitches/yaws the plane and the arrow keys move it laterally, if you know what i mean.
In every fps game i've played where vehicles are used i configure my keys the same way, but i just cannot seem to be able to use the mouse for the plane on this game.
So, currently i have to use the up/down arrows to ascend/descend, which is pants when trying to fly a plane. The mouse does absolutely nothing apart from shoot when i press the buttons.

I'm sure you understand, so any advice please?

To be honest, I switched to a 360 pad for this bit - it was much easier.

I used 360 pad for the whole game...on veteran.

Easy.

I had the same problem but just managed to squeak through using the dodgy WASD keys.
Not good to have digital inputs when analogue is more suited

I've never had an issue with flying planes/choppers in any game AS LONG AS I CAN CONFIGURE THE DAMNED CONTROLS.
Why won't it let me, goddamit!?

I can see my experience with this game ending right there in that canyon. I enjoyed everything that went before it though.
Cut scenes too long though for me.

Flying the plane with mouse and keyboard is a ****ing nightmare!
