I gather the next installment of COD is out in a month or so? My current GPU is an ATI 3850 256mb. I haven't ever had a problem running many games to be honest as I except things like crysis will never be able to run on ultra with this GPU. But...would it be much more hardcore on graphics than the last COD as my machine run that one fine. Not with all eye candy on, but completely playable whilst looking good. Also any suggestions for a nice cool/quiet/low power hunger running dual slot design graphics card that would be a cheap upgrade for me from a 3850. I don't mind brand or manufacturer.

Cheers all

I would wait and see. Tbh i doubt it will be much more demanding than mw2. The game is made for xbox and ps3 which is based on quite old hardware, i doubt they would put anything extra in to make use of higher end pcs and even if they did I am pretty confident the minimum requirements will be similar to mw2.

And yeah black ops is out next month some time. Not sure if i am getting it yet as i want civV and f1 2010 more.

Plus the new ATI cards will be out around November ~ December which should knock the price of the 5000 series down a bit. So hang on to your cash if you can and upgrade then.

Aye same here. I'll have my 5850 for a while, I upgraded from a 8800GT which I had from launch, only because I had the "upgrade itch" and not because the games were too demanding. I guess this is in-part thanks to consoles, and the games being optimised to run at there low spec. So the new Call of Duty may actually run perfectly well on your 3850 if you can run MW2 well.
