COD Coldwar XB1 Controller Disabled

Not played it for a few weeks now and now, when I tried to continue from my last save or restart the level, as soon as I launch into campaign, the controller is padlocked out in the settings menu defaulting to KB and mouse.

Any fixes?

Tried reinstalling the game?

That'll be a last resort as it's a huge install.

You’re starting the game with the controller on? I notice since I updated the firmware on my gamepad it turns itself off in Windows 10 which never happened before. Some games don’t check for controller past the initial boot.

Yes, controller is on pre launch, once game loads, you can navigate the menus/resume campaign by using Y on the controller, game loads up, default controls return to KB+M, controller is disabled.
