CoD : Ghosts - Stuttering a bit, then settles down? Any tweaks to try?

Running CoD:Ghosts on a fairly modest rig consisting of a Q6600 @ 3.2Ghz, 4Gb DDR2 800 and a 2Gb MSi Twin Frozr 7850. 24" LCD Acer monitor at 1920x1080 at 60hz.

What settings should the game run at comfortably? I'm finding that during cut scenes and especially at the start of missions for some unknown reason, it stutters and jumps a fair bit then seems to settle down and the issue vanishes after a minute or two? Temperatures of the CPU and the 7850 are perfectly normal. I realise my Q6600 is a bit old hat and bottlenecking me somewhat but evenso I expected to be able to run this at a fair detail level with a 2Gb 7850 powering it.

Anyone got any tips for what to tweak? Any cfg tweaks worth applying?

Ta.

I've got an overclocked 4770k and 2 7970's and I can't get the game to run smoothly! It is an u optimised mess. Last Call of Duty I will be buying on pc. A disgraceful state to release a so called "triple-a" title in.

Blame Infinity Ward. If you're a CoD fan there is no reason not to get the next one as it will be Treyarch and they do decent PC releases.

Sadly its a stuttering mess on my dads PC also which uses an i7 860, 6gb RAM and a 760 2gb overclocked gpu. The rig runs BF4 beautifully, yet ghosts is a stutter fest. I've tried lowering settings and different drivers to fix it, yet nothing works. Very poorly coded game, especially seen as its smooth as silk on my xbox one lol.
