Is it me, or does this game have more bugs that Spanish hotel kitchen on the Costa Brava?

I don’t think I can remember playing a game whereby I’ve experienced so many bugs and clitches..

Symptoms include:
  • NPCs standing like “scarecrows”
  • NPCs running on the spot”
  • Bad clipping
  • Objectives not updating after completing the last one. You are last walking around and the NPCs just stand there.

to name a few...

Up to date on all the latest drivers and patch as far as I know.

I have to rate this game in the low 70%

COD II is fairly buggy. One of them almost made me chuck the game out of the window. At some point in British camapaign you have a mission which starts with your troops trying to get through the meadow with stream in the middle to small village, you have to cover them with sniper riffle with help of machine gunner, there is artilery point right on the other side of the stream. I made probably 20 unsuccessfull attempts to cover my fellow soldiers, but enemy troops would just keep coming and coming at me until I would run out of ammo. There was no end to enemy waves, there was no logic to the mission. After 20 attempts I just tried to run around the meadow and across the stream to find trigger of the save point and after about 5 suicidal runs towards the constantly respawning enemy soldiers I finally found the trigger right on the top of german soldiers lying in the trench. Go figure.

This is all new to me. COD2 has been the only game i have ever played where after 4 times of playing it single-player, and hundreds of hours multi-player i've yet to have a single glitch. :D

Most of my glitches were because of the dual core bugs. I used a program to asign the affinity to one of the cores and it worked fine. It saved more often, people didn't float with their arms out streched and plot things happened. So all good. The program was called imagecfg. Heres a link http://www.robpol86.com/Pages/imagecfg.php
Very usefull for a lot of older games like NWN and Raven Shield.

Played through it and its not that buggy for me - however one of the best glitches I saw was on a corpse. One of my squaddies died - however his month continued to move as if he was still shouting constantly about bloody potatoe mashers! I know dead bodies do strange things - but this was surreal!

I know what you mean, but i don't get it that bad :p

It is annoying though how you HAVE to move onwards otherwise you end up with a never ending barrage of the enemy. I remember spending about 15mins just sitting there shooting at the oncoming enemy with nothing happening.

I'm really enjoying it. I must say I am surprised how smooth it is running at 1280x1024 with a 9800pro, I was expecting a nightmare after some of the reports.
The one thing I do find naff though is unloading a machine gun into clay pots & caskets in the African levels without putting a dent in them. Some environmental damage wouldn't have gone amiss.
