Hey guys,

Right, was playing CoD online on PS3 fine last night, but today Dad has put a new router in, and ever since, I just get stuck with the "Connecting to matchmaking server..." message, he's tried allowing it through on the router's firewall, but still no luck.

Any of you guys have any suggestions? Anything would be appreciated :) Cheers!

Letting it through the firewall is only half of it.

It will need certain ports forwarded to the PS3 as well in order for it to work right.

The old router probably did it with port triggering or uPnP so it was automatic.

Maybe the new router is not capable of it or more likely the feature is turned off.

Some router manufacturers turn uPnP off by default.

Get you dad to either give you access to the router to check it yourself or get him to check all the forwarding settings.

Cheers guys!

We've tried the DMZ way, and still nothing happened. It does seem like it's a case of the IP address is changing, or the ports need forwarding and Larkspeed, I think it might be the uPnP problem, it probably is turned off. From forums I've looked at, it does seem to be a problem with forwarding the ports.
When my dad gets home from work I'll get him to have another look.

if the IP keeps changing look for something like IP Address reservation. you give it the mac address of the PS3 and assign an IP to that mac. then no matter how the PS3 network is setup (static or auto) it will always have the same IP that's what I did for my 360 to solve network issues

Networking?

I was going to say MW2 thread, but it's nothing to do with the game really.

Right, I've opened up all of those ports, I've also set myself a static IP address through the PS3's network settings. And still, I'm stuck at the matchmaking server message screen
Any ideas anyone?
If it helps it's a Tenda Wireless-N Router

Right, just bumping this thread up, as it's still not working :(
I've forwarded all the ports that Larkspeed told me to, and I've set it a permanent IP address, still it doesn't connect to the matchmaking server :(
Anyone got any other ideas as to what to try, apparently something along the lines of a Mac address has to be sorted? Not sure though
