CoD WaW FPS issue.

Although not the same game, when I am playing Borderlands I get choppy frame rates too, like you are experiencing. Its still very playable but its getting a little tedious turning the mouse and seeing the frames skip to 60 then to turn round again and it a bit shaky at 30. I've also tried turning off cat a.i. to see if it helps and I'm not sure yet that it has. Does this in quite a few games, doubt I'd be cpu limited either.

Edit : Just found out my solution but don't know if it will help you dmxdex2020...can you turn off dynamic shadows or reduce a shadows option. Unfortunately I've had to turn this off, hasn't made much of a visual impact thankfully, my fps are now 60 fps, give or take a frame or three, all the time. It probably will be a case of just tweaking one setting then trying the game and so on until you can make a satisfactory compromise. Nevertheless, with a decent rig I feel I should be able to max this out, maybe I wouldn't have this problem if it were an nvidia card, I really don't know.

Disabling cat ai fixed the drop from 150 fps to 30. but when i play single player i only get 50fps and when i play multi in big servers get drops below 60fps. I wish i didnt buy this 4870x2 nothing but aload of rubbish. What is the point in buying a graphics card built for double the power when no game supports it waste of my 300 pound.

I am pleased with mine overall, but I certainly do share your frustrations. I have made my mind up though, I am buying a new card in a few days or around a weeks time. I like ATI's IQ but would prefer consistency out of the two; the crazy thing is on some games its absoloutely perfect, too much of a swing on others for my liking. Whether its games being given preference in accordance with nvidia for various reasons / ATI drivers (I hate to say this but it does occur that it could be possible) or whatever but there are times that I feel I just haven't quite got my monies worth out of it.
Btw, although I thought I had found a fix, it still does it a little though it is a lot better.
Such a shame, can be a great peformer on some titles. :(

ATI should have better drivers out, the 4870x2 has been out for ages and yet a lot of games just do not want to know. Not sure if its down to windows 7 and ati optimising the drivers for the OS. I cannot afford another card. Nvidia do not have anything i want and ati's new cards have driver issues. And im sure if my 4870x2 has issues then other ati cards in crossfire will suffer the same problem. And as you say mate not consistant enough.
