COD World At War - No sound

Hi,

anyone else had problems with their World At War Patch 1.2 update, with after updating they have no sound?

Went to the asus site and downloaed the latest Realtek drivers for my P5Q Pro onboard sound...

If i remember Modern Warfare had issues with Realtek, i to this day have a snipped RCA plug, plugged into my mic socket otherwise the MP game will crash...

Anyway, need a fix and can't seem to find on on google.. anyone else been able to resolve for the World At War No Sound problem? Vista 32bit.

i had it on MW but a driver update sorted it (Or downdate)

Try going into sound/speakers/properties/advanced then change your sample rate to
16 bit , 44100 hz (CD Quality)

worked for me but im on windows 7

Yep - here to. Yesterday sound. Today after patch - no sound.

Another vote for setting audio to 16bit 44100Hz, worked for me. Pretty stupid that the patch breaks the game but there you go

Hmm, anyway of fixing it without downgrading your sound card quality? Cos we are doing this through Windows and not just the game...

Worked for me too, but not happy about going down from 24bit to 16bit, just for one game.. And remembering to do it for every time i just want to play World At War is too much of a pain.

Its not great having to reduce the quality. As for being to much of a pain , ive had to do a lot worse to get games to work . Maybe patch 1.3 will resolve it .

I got WaW for Christmas but I only installed it yesterday along with the 1.2 patch.

Just fired up the game and I have no sound... I probably should have tried the game without any patches first, but there :rolleyes:

I tried the sound downgrade trick and it worked! (Thanks to richiesimms!) Bit annoying that I'm going to have to do this each time I play the game tho?!

Out of interest, is this an issue for everyone then after updating to 1.2 or just for people with certain setups?

sam.wheale what have you got your sound set to ive had to leave mine at 16bit 48000hz or below or it wont have any sound and thats with the 1.3 patch

The downgrade sound option didn't work for me with 1.2 so it will be interesting to see if 1.3 makes any difference. I'll give it a go and report back.

I'm happily playing at 24 bit, 192000 Hz (Studio Quality. I've got sound from startup, but in-game, I've only tried the Zombie Mission. I assume the main game also has audio?

Sorry that it's not working for everyone

I've got an x-fi music running the latest vista x64 drivers.
