Ok, I have done extensive googling and have found no solutions to this problem.

When i am trying to play COD4 (or 2) then it pops up with the splash screen, then stays there for 2 minutes odd before finally loading the game. I have reinstall the game.

I have no idea whats causing this whether is be gfx drivers/motherboard drivers.

Anyone had this problem in the past? Thanks in advance.

Hi,

My system spec is:
E2200
8800GT
1GB PC6400

I am running XP SP2.

Azagoth: The problem is that it pops up with a loading screen, then freezes so it says non-responding for somewhere between 3 and 4 minutes. Everytime I start my game then it says it needs to reset all my graphics options etc too. Yes or no it still takes forever to load.

well I would say it is more of a hardware problem then the games.

For starters I would increase your RAM to at least 2gb and tbh your cpu is probably not helping much either.

If not when was the last time you ran disk defrag or did a fresh install of windows? Could help speed things up.

I used to get such a pause when my ISP went down and i was running the multiplayer .exe [CoD2] for either a LAN 1v1 with bro or to watch a replay.

If i disabled my pc's network connection, the game fired up fine. So perhaps try that, disable your connection and see if the problem still exists. If not, then i'll take a stab and say it's a network issue of some sort.

sounds like a RAM issue to me , 1Gb really isnt a lot for FPS gaming nowadays and most ppl would recommend 2GB atleast

I tried disabling my network adapter and it didn't work :(

I am pretty sure its not a hardware issue, because it does not lag the pc out. It just sits there using 14mb of memory and 0% cpu for 3/4 minutes. I can sit here typing this while its doing it.

I think I will try some driver re installations.
