COD2 driving me mad!!

Help! I'm utterly stuck!

Borrowed this of my mate and I'm playing it through on Veteran, but I've hit a brick wall on one of the missions.

Its the first American mission, Point Du Hoc.

I've climbed the cliff, got to the top and made my way to the left and inside the underground bunker. Cleared it no problem but its when you leave that bunker and go up the steps back outside.

The AA gun can be heard on my right and I lay smoke but everytime I make a run for the trench ahead, I get utterly ripped to shreds! Same goes for the crater to the left.

How in gods name do you get past this?!?!?!?

Takes ages mate, took me a while to get the hang of it, but what you're doing is spot on. Just keep heading forward-left and you'll fall in a trench where you'll be able to rest AND get a checkpoint.

From then on it's a piece of cake (well, not a piece of cake, more like a 6loody big slice, but you know what I mean).

Smoke, Smoke and more smoke.

then Haul ass up to the trench, jump in shoot the germans wait, rest, recover, (both your guy and you)

Took me 3 days to get past this (about an hour each day) and up to the Silo level.

As the above have said, Smoke, Smoke, Smoke. You'll need at least 2, Jump into the trench and shoot the Germans. I found it best to smoke the trench right out and crawl into the trench, stay prone in the trench and as the smoke clears pick of the enemy.

I'm off to play the Silo...wish me luck!

Woot! Managed to do it. Theres a really easy way.

As you come out of the bunker, take a left and sit in the doorway. From there you can take out the Germans in the trenches.

Hug the side wall where you are and poke your head over the wall. There you'll see the AA gunners. You can now happily snipe them while being nicely covered.
