cod2 multiplayer error

Hi, im having an issue with cod2 multiplayer where when you double click the shortcut its loads the small cod2 square then the black screen after that but then it just sits there for 2mins, in task manager it says not responding but after 2mins it will load, ut 2mins is a long time. cod2 single player loads as normal as do all other games.

o and im on vista 64.

re-isntall usually works with problems like this, sometimes on mine the game shows the square title screen in the middle for like 30 seconds then loads, but yours seems to be different, id re-install and it will probs work
