How is CoD2 multiplayer, im thinking about buying it off steam just for the multiplayer, i played through it on low settings on my old computer with its mighty geforce 4 mx, but never did any multiplayer, i heard its good and very tactical on the rifle only servers. Is it still popular? Good fun? Comparable to CSS or anything?

yeh its still pretty popular, its at its best if u can find a good server though. as for the tactical, the less people on a server the mor tactical, obviously if you were in a clan its very tactical, lots of little tricks n stuff to use aswell. very fun game, i usually hang around rifle servers
 
The COD2 community is one of the better ones. You still have the odd plonker but for the most part I've had a lot of fun playing it (a good 2-3 years now).

Played it too much though and it's all a bit too clean-cut and polished to truly feel like a war game. So I've moved onto Red Orchestra.

Honestly don't think you'll be let down if you do buy it though - plenty of life left in it yet.
 
I really enjoy it on multi.

HQ is the best mode I've ever played on an FPS..

I'd recommend the [AFK|EU] server(does multiple gametypes, with a select few custom maps), I'm not a member, but I pop on it now and then. Don't play it much as I have to use my little brothers pc.

I would think you'd struggle on a GF4(I know you would infact), unless you upgrade.

Agreed. There are still lots of hardcore COD players around.

I basically see COD being to COD2 as what CS1.6 is to CS:S. (Superior).
