CoD2 patch - 15th Feb?

Still rumours and hearsay as far as Im concerned, were still waiting for the SDK from a week after the game was released, I will believe it when I see it.

Performance for me is fine and tbh pb isn't that big an issue to me as I play on our clan server, I just want some more maps, I'm so bored of the current ones and they're all too small:(

Can't wait to see what the CoD2 players can come up with, one of the things I loved about UO was the custom maps.

i had cod2 for 1 day then sold it as theres no anti cheat. blatant users of cheats/hacks on there too, just makes it un enjoyable. the first cod didnt get anticheat til patch 1.3 for chuffs sake

...

Well why didn't you wait until it did have AC before you bought it?

Do your homework, son :)

what the hell is that meant to mean??
why should i have to research a basic requirement in a online played game??

i pay for a game and then go and find out that some holes are in the game/programming that allows hacks or cheats.
these were around back in the day of medal of honour and it ruined the experience for fair playing gamers. its crap to just walk round a corner on a map and hear someone start shooting, only to find its someone thats started too early and has given themselves away as using cheats etc. and that was 5 years ago. games such as enemy territory doesnt allow cheaters and thats oldish, bf2 and any of the steam games dont allow cheats either. its common place. but infinity ward just dont bother with it, took them 3 patches to do it in the first COD.

Yeah we need PB for this, saying that though the hackers have not yet really bothered me very much.
Sometimes I change server because of them, like the guy on El Alamein the other night who was stood behind a wall shooting people as they came along the trenches, he could see nothing but still managed to shoot me through 4ft of concrete :(
But most of the time I have great fun, the game runs so smooth on my Opty148 NF4 1gb ram system with gfx maxed out on a 1800xl.

Like Tim said above about the maps, I'm only enjoying half of them now and while they are too small I probably don't help myself by only playing on servers with over 30 people.

It's great to see that there are some custom maps starting to show up, has anybody tried them (or is there just 1) yet?
There is talk everywhere of the "wonder" patch which will fix all our woes and has been since the game came out so don't go holding your breath guys

i was actually hoping that the patch would be true :( but i highly doubt, after reading other forums, they will even borther with a patch for another few months

From another forum

a member of the IW Nation boards has posted up news that he claims to have received through an undivulged source.
It has been brought to our attention through a claim this evening that the long awaited patch that has been officially announced to be released early 2006 is in fact not going to be as early as we anticipated.

As the majority of you are aware an official statement was released on 21st December 2005 to say that a patch is on its way for CoD2. Of course one of the most important features of this patch is the Punkbuster Anticheat Program. We have been told unofficially this evening through a undivulged source that in fact IW are having problems with Punkbuster and can't get it working with the DX architecture. So, the promises of early 2006 have now some what been shattered and it is very doubtful we shall get an official statement from IW regarding what is happening now.

So no PB yet then. Why dont IW/AV just go back to Garetjax on their knees, say sorry and get his AC implemented in the patch?

These guys are turning into another EA. Its all about the money. I think there's only valve that actually care, in terms of fps's.

If the patch is another few months away doubt ill be buying cod3.

I dont think I will buy another IW/Activision game for a long while, they just dont care anymore, it was all fine and dandy for the first CoD, they gave the community the cold sholder a couple of times, but for the most part the things that were promised were delivered. Now you would be lucky to get close enough to get the cold sholder from them. The thing that decided it for me was the SDK, it was supposedly brilliant and easy to use, now its just Vaporware.
