Hey Guys,

Okay I realise its an old game but me likes especially multiplayer ;)

Basically I used to play COD2 on winxp frequently...Unfortunately now though I cannot get it at all to load on vista...I believe it could be because of a dx10 issue...However Im not 100% certain..

I dont get an error msg as such, I click on my desktop icon and my screen just goes black and nothing happens thereafter...I have to go into task manager where I see it says "not responding" so I end task...

Whats happening...why cant I play this game?

Please help

Cheers

Doesn't COD2 start immediately with a video? If it does, it could be a codec problem.

Your path may vary, depending on where you installed the game - that's fine, don't edit the path text inside the quotes; add commands at the end of this line to force Call of Duty 2 to do various things at launch. All you need to do is insert a space to separate each command, and insert the words +set in front of the command. For example, to skip the startup movies (com_introplayed 1)

Might not be, but it's worth a try.

COD2 and vista is a nightmare.
Some people get it working, other people dont.
I got it working single player but multi would never load and just kept on crashing so I gave up in the end.

Try setting the compat mode for the main .exe game file to windowsxp, this seems to solve a lot of the problems.

cheers guys, changing the compability did it :)

cool

any news on when cod3 for PC is going to be released, unless its out atm?

^^ Most are waiting for COD4 mate, I know i am. I've had Dudes from my old COD clan contacting me via MSN looking to hook up again for 4
