COD2 Veteran D-Day level help!!! Please :)

Glad you got it done, it is however far from the hardest level. I found the Silo very difficult, some people didn't though, however others found Hill 400 very difficult and I did it 3rd time :p.

Is Silo the one when you were on the top of the tower and had to stop the mortar teams? if so then that was the hardest one for me too :) Hill 400 was not bad as you could hide a bit in that one :p

Agreed. I almost ended up hating the game because of it. I haven't even finished CoD3's veteran because the AI is so pathetic that it's just impossible and frustrating.
COD3 was really frustrating on Veteran. I got about 3/4 of the way through it and got stuck on some Forest level. I stuck with it for nights and nights but just couldn't advance past a certain checkpoint. In the end I just decided it wasn't worth it, gutted :(

That forest level was the hardest from both COD2 and COD3. There should really be more checkpoints. from what I've heard COD4 is worse and I'm not sure I'm looking forward to it!

Im stuck on the silo level now, might just pack it in, cant be arsed anymore :(
Don't give up! I was stuck on that map for 3 days solid (re-occurring theme this). There's one central house you need to clear before moving on (near the post office) and there's an upper floor that has about 6 enemies in. You and your team clear out the first floor and its YOUR job to clear out the second floor alone, whilst they all chill out downstairs...

The final bit on top of the silo wasn't too bad later on as you can simply memorise the enemy waves.

The bit I was stuck on is where you have to fight through a huge forest and then man a mortar to blow up a truck barricade. If you fail then you're returned back to the start of the forest. The forest alone takes about 20mins of planning fs :/

That's the one. Before the mortar teams you have to take all the buildings too.
I remember doing it all, then missing the ladder on top of the Silo and falling to my death :p.

haha yeah it's coming back to me now, clearing those building, especially the upstairs on your own was a bit of a devil :D

I cant get past either the barn or the german HQ, its relentless, theres always some bloke in a window will do a 3 shot wonder in my back...

Anyone got any tips at all for this level? :S

Throw Smokes right infront of the german HQ, then crouch in the corner next to the bush (bottom left) and pick them all off in the door, then when you've killed a few, progress through it. There are a couple hit behind doorways and upstairs is a nightmare.

The HQ is the toughest of all, but if you get it first you have a good spot to pick everyone else off from. Stick with it.

As Mr Men said, Upstairs is a nightmare to clear :p.

GOOD SWEET JESUS MONKEY BALLS I DID THE HQ!!!

Storming the top of the building - on my own lol, was extremely nerve wracking!!

Cheers for the bit of help nokkon, may I use and abuse you for further parts of the level? :D

Yeah that was the one. I had already done it on hard, so I knew that the mortar part wasn't going to be easy, but most times I just couldn't survive making my way across the forest to even get to the bunker, let alone give the mortar a go!

I can't log onto Live from work - so did you manage to complete it then?

lol, posting at 01:00 :D Congrats!
I must admit it was one of the hardest, tedious game modes I've played, more tedious rather than hard though.
