CoD4 125120 PB Kick - Any fix?

Keep getting kicked from CoD4 while playing on-line for 0 minutes by Punkbuster, is there any way to fix this or will I have to disable to in game Steam messenger? Hate tabbing out when people message me as my game seems to crash.

Manually update PB with PB.Exe

Just Google for PB.Exe

Have done already, still no joy. I don't get the kick when i'm on servers with no PB.

You can't run the overlay on CoD4, it's totally ridiculous but there you go. You'll have to disable it unless you find a solution that I couldn't.

Running mumble?

Disable the overlay/plug-in on that as well.

Disabling mouse and KB software worked for a mate.

Mumble is fine, though i've had a thorough look into it and apparently it's PunkBuster being overly protective. Apparently it's been there since CoD4 got released on Steam which is what, like 3 years ago? Can't believe they've not fixed/updated it, I would have forgiven them if it was a genuine issue and people were somehow exploiting the Seam overlay but apparently this isn't the case.
