COD4 after reformat

Gonna have to reformat my sons hard drive but he is worried he will lose his ranking and progress - is the data stored on the hard drive that can be taken off and saved to be re-installed later?

Yes you can keep his profile

Copy the username folder which is in the cod4 install dir then players then profiles
