COD4 changing settings problem

Whenever I try to change the settings in multi player COD4 the game closes and I get this error message.

I can't find the readme file :confused:

I bought it off Steam and just can't find the readme. Does anyone know how to change the settings in multi player without it messing up?

What settings are u tryin to change? has to be gfx or sound with the Dx message?

You think thats bad?? i changed the multiplier on my CPU yesterday and lost all my stats!!!! :mad:

Disable xfire, presuming you have it running that is.

The brightness and AA settings.

I had a bug, where I couldn't change the games' resolution, without it crashing, and that was without xfire installed.

You can change the settings manually by finding the COD4 program directory, then go:

COD4/players/profiles/yournameprofile/config.cfg

and editing the text file there. Not sure if it'll work for brightness. If its there, it'll be around the seta r_...

can u adjust brightness by itself? leavin the AA out of the equation?

when u try to change AA settings in CoD4 it should tell u that the game needs to restart in order for the changes to take place,,,, im guessing this doesnt happpen?

What GFX card do u have?
