COD4 corrupt mpdata file :(

I bought my brother a new HDD for xmas and he wants to do a format and reinstall etc so we started to make backups. We found his COD4 mpdata file in the Users/.../AppData folder instead of the Program Files/activision.../players folder which was odd, so tried his save file on my PC and when i load his profile in COD4 it says his mpdata file is corrupt and stats have been reset.

Now we havent uninstalled it from his PC yet and it still works fine there. So anyone know how to fix the corrupt file? Obviously he could just copy my mpdata file but then he loses all his achievements.

Have you tried again? could just be a dodgy copy onto the stick.

Also, make a new user with the same name, and then overwrite the file with the new one.
