Far far away....
I have clocked my BFG 8800GTX, it is currently running at 600/1450/1800, stock is 575/1300/1800.

I can run 3DMark 2006 and the Crysis Benchmark until the cows come home but CoD4 will always blue screen at some point with an error, I will confirn the filename but it is an nvidia file for sure.

Now if I do not tell Rivatuner to apply the overclock CoD4 will happily run with no issues.

I am running the 169.28 driver.

I don't think this is a heat issue as I am running the HR-03 Plus and temps never get above 60'c under load.

The actual PC is Prime95 stable for 8 hours running at 3GHz from 2.4Ghz.

Is this a driver issue or a card that will not clock much?

I had this issue with my E6600 @3.20GHz and 8800GTS @650MHz. Everything else was stable apart from COD4. I discovered that COD needs a more stable CPU because it ran fine when I pushed Vcore up to 1.55V.

I wasn't sure that 1.55V was sensible so I took the CPU back down to 2.6GHz @ 1.3V and it has been stable ever since (at the expense of a few frames in COD). COD didn't seem to mind extreme amounts of GFX clock, surprisingly.

Try setting the CPU back to stock settings and work from there.

I can play with the Q6600 running at 3GHz no problem, it is only when the overclock is applied to the GPU that it crashes.

It is only unstable with the GPU clocked.

You're not giving us much to work with.

Are you are saying that you can run the CPU at any clock speed you want but the minute that you increase the GPU by 1MHz it will crash?

Have you tried running earlier versions of the GFX drivers? What does event viewer say about the crash? What is the name of the file (in the BSOD) that goes unstable?

never had a problem with cod4 and overclocked componants just make sure your overclocks are stable.
