does anyone else agree? ive been playing on more hardcore servers recently and i find them much more fun. much more realistic in terms of not having all sorts on the hud. i find "normal mode" is just to cluttered and ugly ... especially with that big bar along the bottom. im now playing team deathmatch and search n destroy in hardcore mode and im loving it. i prefer servers with less players say 10-20 or so.

who else is with me ?

who ever agrees gets a cookie :)

in response to that:

i prefer having no crosshair especially since you can use the iron sites. thats what call of duty is all about.

HC is great, i hated it at first but much prefer it now :)

i never tried it at first...infact i didnt know it existed. i wasnt used to the game and calling for helicopters and etc.

like you i am now loving hc. wish it was in cod2/cod1 (is it ? cant remember)

i wander if there is a way to turn off nades ... never created a server or anything with cod4 before.

i remember when cod2 was a nade fest in mp but then they changed it so nades only travel a somewhat realistic distance rather than been blasted through the air over rooftops.

lol ^^,

anywho have you got the steam version? if so i think theres a way to install the patch with it. i think its in the cod4 thread though not sure.

if for retail version go ahead and down load, i think its 1.5 and then you have to download 1.6. (someone correct me on this)

hardcore is utterly biggest crap ever u got shot in a foot and u die. the crosshair idea maybe but damage its just not real and if they tried to recreate more realistic damage were is bleeding ?

sorry you feel this way but come on at least its closer to realism, even more so if like me you use the last stand perk with some weapons (though it is controversial)

i too only ever play on hardcore. But i wish they got rid of the shot indicator things (the x-hair that flashes up when you're actually hitting someone)

your right there, sorta ruins the whole point.

also be nice , an option to turn off when it says whos killed who and who you have killed. would make it all the more tense on s&d.

I've only played the pc mode for about 15 minutes, but maybe you feel that way because majority of servers place 40~people on a map. Join servers with 12 player max limit like xbox games and you will see hardcore mode shine. Rather than a spam fest of grenades and bullet spraying, it is a tactical game where any noob sprinting down main street will be capped.

I've played hardcore near enough exclusively on xbox live and rue having to play normal mode everytime the challenge returns on a new prestige level. I also find the general maturity on hardcore games to be better than normal games.

i my self tend not to play those servers with 30+ people on as at the end of the day it makes the game somewhat worse (a fest) and lag so its doesnt play as nice. i like playing 10v10 servers as well as 12v12 and the occasional 5v5. though on some maps on cod4 5v5 seems really rubbish. say on crossfire, its just to big for a 5v5 if you think about it. it gets boring for me , as people are far to cautious, and all i hear is silence for 5 minutes.

i never intended this thread to be about "uber skilled" players. i only play cod4 for fun on public when i can. im not uber skilled, im not getting 100:1 kd ratio or any kind of crap. i just prefer hardcore mode,
