COD4- latest patch killed my game?

Hey i just installed the new patch and now when i join a server online everything is bright white and flashing at me and all really screwed up. Ive underclocked my card and its not made a difference.

Why is everything going wrong. RB6 vegas doesn't do my screen resolution, oblivions mods are conflicting so badly it crashs at the moment and now cod4 is unplayable and the onlythig that changed was me installign the patch.

When i join the screen gradually fills up with white patchs till i turn around and it goes away and i turn back and it does it again.

Sounds like a duff graphics driver, I doubt the COD patch is related to your issue.

But it works in all over games and only stoped working after i installed this patch.

You had 1.4 installed before 1.5? Tried a fresh install?

if i do a fresh install will i lose my unlocks etc? It worked a few weeks ago on 1.4 then i decide i wana paly it again and instead the 1.5 patch from an xfire download. And all of a sudden the screen goes white in games. The patch is the onlty thing which has changed.

You won't lose your rank if you back it up, I forgot which file it is but you should be able to work it out.

save mp data file in players or just save players file and swap it not very big.

Okeypokey thanks. I think ill download a new 1.5 patch as well. if this doesn't work i gues perhaps updating my graphics card drivesr might but i dont see why if they ahve been working before and as far as im aware all the new graphics drivers for the last month havn't really effected cod4.

Hi there,

I had a similar issue when I first installed COD4 and when I installed the last patch, using a 8800GTX and most recent WHQL drivers.

To rectify this I:-
- changed the in game resolution setting back to whatever the default is (think it was 800x600)
- saved changes
- then went back into the COD4 settings and reverted back to my desired screen res and saved the changes.

dont just change drivers for new ones if your old ones are fine.

You mean you went into optinos clicked default then restarted and set it back again?
