I have noticed since the patch that my crosshairs are automatically pulling themselves towards targets. It doesn't aim, but it definitely moves the sights towards a target.

It's a huge hinderance rather than a help. Has anyone noticed this, and is there any way to turn it off? Cheers

It was there before the patch, I haven't played since the patch so whether it's now stronger or more noticeable I can't say.

[edit] Sorry, don't know of any way to switch it off.

Sorry don't think there is any way to turn that off, if you zoom from the hip it always goes towards a target thats near you and in the same direction as your facing.

Call of Duty 4 Xbox 360 Patch is OUT - Here’s what’s changed!

Hey Everyone –

Just as I called it, the Xbox 360 patch for Call of Duty 4 passed certification by the weekend, and started hitting consoles near you this morning. For those of you wondering what’s been changed, a full list of the newness is:

New Kill Cams - Everything that can kill you has a Kill Cam now. Grenades, Airstrikes, Claymores, C4, M203 Rounds, RPGs, anything. So jump online, get owned alittle and check them out. They’re awesome, especially Grenades and M203 shots that go across the map and through a window.

Host Migration - Host migration was added, so now when the host leaves you won’t get dropped back to your own lobby by yourself. Everyone will stay together. Host Leaves, everyone returns to lobby, selects next best host, and the game starts up again. No more re-inviting, re-partying up because a host ended the game.

Improved Sniper Accuracy - The Sniper rifle accuracy has been improved. No more, WTF? shots now. Your cross hair will be a better representation of where your shot will ultimately land. Try out a sniper class today, let us know how the new accuracy feels.

Improved ACOG Scope Accuracy - ACOG scopes accuracy on any weapon has been improved. Test it out, throw it on one of your classes and give it a go.

Upgraded Spectator Cam - Now when you’re a spectator you have the option to follow in 3rd person or 1st person. As well as rotate 360 degrees around the player you’re watching. Next time you’re dead in Search and Destroy and just watching your team mates do stuff you know you can do better, now do it in 1st person or rotate around them.

Quick Mute Option - Now you can easily and quickly mute players in-game or in-lobby without ever going through the Xbox Live blades. Just go to their gamertag on screen and hit ‘A’ to quick mute in lobby, or via the in-game scoreboard if playing. Quick. Easy. Salvation!

In addition to these feature additions there will also be:

Improved Network Performance For Larger Games - 18 player games now require more bandwidth to host, resulting in smoother performance for players.

Optimized Server Selection for First Match - Server selection is now optimized to select best bandwidth servers associated by LSP.

Fixed “Playlist Older Than Host” Error - Player will no longer get this error when entering games.

Additional Start Spawn Locations in All Maps - Added a minimum of 9 extra start spawns on each side of all maps.

Cheers lads, looks like it hasn't changed. Certainly feels a lot stronger to me since the patch though, but maybe my imagination.

I thought the auto aim has become stronger since the patch, I'm probably wrong though.

Auto aim is not necessary for console FPS imo, especially when sniping (it breaks sniping for me)

It is needed for console FPS, definitely. Halo does it right where auto aim is off for sniping. CoD4 sniping is silly as I get headshots when I clearly miss their heads.

I guess it is needed, but you should be able to switch it off should you wish I think. I feel I'm quite proficient with a pad and where as when I first got the 360 auto aim was a big help. CoD4 sniping is a little silly, but when you are host or have full green ping it is a little more sensible and the patch has improved things I feel.

Try killing a guy on your team.

FF is off?

Poxy girly cod4 forcing FF off in matchmaking...

Make a private game with FF on, 2 people on the same team try and kill each other. I regularly try and kill my team mates in halo 3 (hi alrik :p) and you hit less than a quarter of the shots you normally hit against an opponent when auto aim is on.

Happens all the time with me and im using the G36c. Very annoying when your trying to get a long range kill and then the auto aim spaz's out because someone else is nearer.
