cod4 not working anymore :(

i was playing cod4 the other day fine now i go to start it up and it says iwmp.exe (or whatever it is) has stopped working, i havn't touched anything, i've reinstalled it and no luck.

what could it be? only thing i can think is maybe a windows update screwed it up?

Try iw3sp.exe (single player shortcut)

If you still cant get on it, maybe you've got the wrong .exe for the version of the game.This can happen when you've restored computer to a earlier time or messed about we things you shouldn't of.

update to latest version! and you should be alright unless you've got a cracked copy then you'll have to find your own way of figuring it

Mine does this on a regular basis, really really annoys me!!
Havent worked out why it does it, but i just reinstall the game and it works again for a while

yea sp does the same again. and yes it's a legit copy of the game

have you tried downloading the crack for it, this can fix it, or if you have cracked it, go back to the original exe

try renaming the "miles" folder, in the directory.

If that fixes it, then your music will not be on, and you'll have to find a replacement file/folder from the internet if you want the music back.

Had many problems myself on the old computer, and that fixed one of the loading problems

Enable stereo mix in the recording devices.
