Got a day of work and as I have my new system up and running thought i would by myself a new game. Which is better, ie less trouble i have tried the cysis demo but it kept dropping out with a black screen and then rebooted (no BSOD), I havent tried the COD demo.

Any sugestions?:)

CoD4 is the beter of the two, far superior single player game. If you've got a day spare then you'll easily finish it, it's very short but worth playing. Leave Crysis on the shelf, if you've got the demo you've got the best part of the game!

COD4 for multiplayer gameplay. Crysis for single player gameplay.

Storyline is better in COD4 though. But I've not wanted to play it again, whilst I've played Crysis through 3 times, approaching each thing in a completely different way.

COD4 SP is so linear its only good once. Multiplayer is awesome though :D

crysis was ok but honestly not that great and for me a bit of a let down.

cod4 howevers was fantastic. definatly play this at some point . sp is great and mp is great. i found it much more enjoyable to play then crysis as ... even though some bits in crysis were fun ... to many bits were boring and made you feel disappointed.

COD4 is perfect example how good story beats visuals *e v e r y* time. It's heavily scripted, it's not cutting edge looking, it's more of the same old, and yet it delivers great gaming experience at excellent pace and with decent frame rate, and when you think you've seen it all, it takes twists and turns to submerge you again (sniper level anyone?).

Crysis on the other hand, as good fun as it should be with all the eye candy, just doesn't deliver much over what you can experience in 15 minutes playing demo.

Cod4 SP was linear and repetitive. Respawning enemies are the nail in the coffin.

multiplayer is a Spamfest but enjoyable.

Crysis for SP all the way. It'll run fine with any 8800 easily.

ive always thought graphically cod4 is pretty darn good. sure not the best but still excellent while being well optimized for older hardware . unlike crysis on low settings , looks horrible. cod4 is tolerable and even then my old 7800gt plays cod4 on high fine albeit with no shadows or specular mapping. it still looks fine and makes me look forward to my upgrade soon.

COD4 multiplayer gives it longevity but I thought the single-player campaign was excellent. There are some brilliant missions in there that I have replayed and will certainly play again.

Crysis is definitely worth a look but go for COD4 first.

Yes
Crysis isn't worth considering on anything less than 8800 agreed cod4 runs better

Have to agree 100% here, the whole respawn thing on the demo put me off so much I didn't even consider buying the full game. Crysis was really good fun up to the Aliens bit and worth the asking price on that alone.
