COD4, PC spec help

My COD4 wont run on my laptop, it says vertex error on graphics card.
Do you think it might run on a NF7S, athlon 2500, I think the graphics card is cheap and chearful.
What would I have to spend (on graphics card) to run games like COD4, GTA4 on the PC.

GTA4 probably wont run at all on a laptop. COD4 downscales pretty well, I used to paly it on my 7600GT although that was on a desktop PC.
 
new motherboard, cpu, ram and gfx card that can play both games at okish settings (cod4 high and good res) you are talking 230 (what i spend) but you may need a new psu?
 
Athlon 2500 wont cut it.


You need a quad core for gta iv, and a fast cpu for cod 4 say at least an a64 4000+. (for high fps anyway).


Get a Q6600+Cheap 775 board + 4gb kit + Geforce 8800/9800 as they're cheap.
 
I would say something like this:

e2xxx for around £40 second hand
P35 Mobo for around £60 second hand
4Gb RAM for around £40 (from OcUK)
8800gt for around £50 seconds hand or 2900GT from OcUK for £30

Im running GTA4 on my laptop at 1280x800 with med high settings and i get around 15 to 25fps :eek:

though i'd say my specs are pretty high for a laptop, T9400 2.53ghz, 4gb RAM and a 9600M GT, dual 320gb 7200rpm HDDs

I assume COD4 would fly on my laptop too but i cant test it out since i sold the game, bad move on my part :(
