hi i completed cod4 in normal mode and trying in hard now. is it even possible to complete the sniper stage in hard? i keep dying at the faris wheel... any one did it in hard? any tips?

If you mean "Hardened" then I've done it on that (did the whole game on Hardened).
I hid myself close to where the delapidated bumper cars (?) building was, just to the right of the ferris wheel. I made sure I had a sniper rifle as my primary weapon and switched the pistol for a machine-gun (cant remember which). I picked off most of the people coming in from afar with the rifle, and anyone who got close enough to shoot I just either flashbanged or shot with the machine-gun.
Was a pretty tough mission all things considered but it's do-able.

It's certainly do-able. Quick aiming and well placed claymores are a must.

yea they lock on to you.
Another vote for the area behind the bumper cars, it is big enough to avoid grenades and you can shoot the guys that come in by helicopter through the fence.

Yes, did it about a week ago. The time I did it, after using up all claymores and C4 and nades etc. I retreated (strategically - I didn't run away
) behind the stand (what is it, a bumper cars stand?) to the right. From here I was able to snipe people from across the plaza and also while prone from the very corner of the stand (left side) as they came down the grass. Worked perfectly. Don't worry about Captain Mac, he's well able to look after himself
I went prone on the ferris wheel stage. For some reason, the enemies in front couldn't hit me, all their shots would deflect off the fence around me, and any nades would drop on the ground in front - too far away to hurt me. The only trouble was guys getting behind me, which I had to watch out for when they started to swamp me. Once it got too hectic though, I just gave up on the sniper and went for hiding behind the ferris wheel and AKing anyone that came round for me.
Getting MacMillan back onto the heli was the hardest part for me. I left him too far away.

well i did it... i went into that shed thing and prone and went right next to the wall, only 2 frags got in and it was close to me so i threw it out. and then just wait for copter to come in and kill everyone for me XD lazy *******
new problem now..... that hill defending mission where you blow up 4 tanks, after there i cant get down the hill... i only got like 3 mins to get down and sooo many people to kill... any tips?

Grab an automatic and run like hell. Don't stop at all! It'll probably take you a few goes, but you'll learn where the enemies come from and you can pre-fire round corners and annihilate them!
first tip, you might have to reply the map to do this, is not use any claymores during the map. Save all 8 of them, then when you run to the barn to get the TOW, lay the claymores all over that section in the middle they run to. This takes loads of them out so you can get the rockets into the tank without being shot at
once the countdown starts, go right out of the shed, and keep heading right. Hug the right hand side of the map, and dont stop to try and fight people. If you stop, they just pounce on you and murder you
Dont worry about your useless team mates, just run down the hill as fast as you can, then set up camp at the bottom of the hill, your invulnerable team mates will sort themselves out and get to you unscathed.

I think think the way I ended up completing that level involved hiding in one of the sheds and having to throw back any grenade that was chucked in, then pegged it to the injured sniper and then to the chopper when it arrived - was surprised I didn't get filled with lead on my way to the chopper tbh!

i once, i dont know how, managed to run around to the right of the right-most building and peared behind. where you normally see the bad guys coming out of a door (to the left most part as you look from where whats his name is laying in the grass) there was nobody. so i just stood there and waited for the chopper. unfortunately i got gunned down when the chopper landed
