COD4 steam bug

My COD4 download through steam has just finished, but when I try to launch the game nothing happens.

The usual window comes up saying the game is being launched but nothing happens :\

Any ideas?

I bought it through Steam so I could get on with some other stuff while it downloaded instead of going out, I wish I just went to the shop now.

Delete clientregistry.blob file in your steam installation folder. Restart steam and try again.

As often as that usually fixes everything, it didn't

Delete and downloading again, grrrrrrrrr

try verifying the local data... or you could delete the common folder of cod4 (not the gcf)

do you have NOD32?

Go to AMON
Click Setup
Go to the Exclusions tab.
Add the entire Steam folder, or at least your account name within steam/steamapps

This will turn off the active scanning for whichever folder you choose to exclude.
