COD4 stuttering

I picked this up in the sale but I'm having problems with barely perceptible - but real - stuttering.

Now FRAPS tells me it's a constant 60FPS.

I've tried putting maxfps to 60 in the config file. Tried enabled Dual graphics cards. Added +fullproc to the launch command.

Nothing helps.

Has anyone got this running perfectly smoothly?

I play competitively and yes it's perfectly smooth for me..

Make sure vsync is turned off.
Set /com_maxfps 250 in the console.

See how you are then.

Also use /cg_drawfps 1 to show you the FPS not FRAPS.

using FRAPS in cod 4 will get you kicked

like said turn off vsync
set fps to 0 go in a game look at floor or sky

see what fps you get

then set to what you get 125 or 250

would also change fov to 80

/cg_fov 80

try with aa off and on and with shadows on off

aa and shadows are the only real performance hits in the game.

V-sync off only made it worse. My screen can only do 60Hz so why would a higher frame rate help? This is similar to Far Cry 2 DX10 which stutters even at 60FPS unless you limit the engine to 60fps.

Set the FPS to 30, it fixed stuttering in Far Cry 2 for me, might fix it in CoD4 as well.

It's not tearing because I'm playing with v-sync. Tried with FPS at max 30 and it was horrible. I've put maxfps at 0 and that's pretty good, maybe the best yet.

I wish there was some way to just make it smooth like the 360 version.

lol its cause you have vsync on 0 gives you max fps all the time you can achieve. online it will get you kicked by pb

use no vsync and 125 or 250 like already mentioned.

who in right mind uses 30 fps in cod :p

to see fps just put in /cg_drawfps 1 and 0 to take it off.

as for using other peoples configs unless you know they hundred percent legit dont . there is a config checker being tested at moment thorpy posted about somewhere on here .

Yitch3 config has been pretty much used since the start of CoD4...

I personally used a members of Dignitas with a few modifications.

I have now fixed this and I can't believe how - disable v-sync in COD4 and Force it On in the nVidia Control Panel. Silky smooth now.

I tried it after reading that doing this works wonders for Bioshock 2 also (which it does).
