Hard choice! Crysis has the edge in terms of visuals and immersion, but CoD4 has quite possibly the best cinematic storytelling I have ever seen, simply epic.
I'd pick Crysis if I had to, since I feel it is simply the better shooter; CoD4 becomes frustrating, especially at high difficulty. Once you are ready, upping the difficulty in Crysis makes the game much better. In CoD4 it just makes enemies spawn from every corner, super accurate and you die in like, one hit. Bad, bad gameplay mechanics. I hope the next iteration in the CoD series does away with this constantly spawning enemies until you hit a certain invisible checkpoint mechanic, it's frustrating and kills immersion.
Crysis is still probably the best shooter out by a long shot; there hasn't been a game until now that allowed such freedom to approach a situation in so many different ways. Super stealthy or blow everything up? You choose. There are also other simple, often overlooked factors, like how you can sneak back into the thick jungle undergrowth after been spotted and enemies lose track of you, or how you have to actually pick up items, and you see it happen, rather than just running over ammo and picking it up. These are all little things that I score the game very highly on. It's not just about pretty graphics; it's an intelligent and immersive shooter.
The "Crysis is just another pretty face" meme is tiresome.
Anywho, both are fine games, and deserve all the praise they get! Love 'em both!
crysis overhipped utterly sheit game
Little excessive don't you think? Simply saying you didn't like it would have been enough.
