Just been playing COD4 for the first time @ 1920 x1200 max settings and and it runs as smooth as butter + it looks fantastic!

So why does Crysis run like a dog and take so long to load you can wall paper the living room whilst waiting to play?

I can't believehow good COD looks!

the person above has it spot on, plus cryengine2 does **** loads more than COD4s engine, for example real-time PROPER physics, not some rubbish like in most games, wind affecting foliage, brushing past foliage, HDR and SSAO (first game to use i believe) and another thing it has on any other game, 30FPS in crysis is smooth as silk, 30FPS in COD4 is unplayable so its hard to compare to two TBH

Well said

i prefer cod4 graphics and game play then crysis . crysis is just wrong i bet if they made crysis on cod engine game would be much better :p.

crysis overhipped utterly xxxxx game

The gameplay is subjective, of course. But CryEngine 2 is leaps and bounds ahead of anything else available at the moment. Maxed out, there's just NOTHING that can touch Crysis in terms of graphics, physics and what not.

Personally, I really enjoyed Crysis and don't know why it gets so much stick for its gameplay. I enjoyed COD4 too, but to me it felt a little too scripted and linear at times.

same here, in COD4 your stopped by a four foot wooden fence, in crysis you'd just blow it up or throw a korean through it :D psychas is definately aboard the anti-crysis wagon

CoD4's gameplay is nonexistent and it's embarrasing that people consider it the peak of the FPS genre. No way in Sam Hell is it. Crysis is leagues ahead of CoD4 in every aspect.

Hard choice! Crysis has the edge in terms of visuals and immersion, but CoD4 has quite possibly the best cinematic storytelling I have ever seen, simply epic.

I'd pick Crysis if I had to, since I feel it is simply the better shooter; CoD4 becomes frustrating, especially at high difficulty. Once you are ready, upping the difficulty in Crysis makes the game much better. In CoD4 it just makes enemies spawn from every corner, super accurate and you die in like, one hit. Bad, bad gameplay mechanics. I hope the next iteration in the CoD series does away with this constantly spawning enemies until you hit a certain invisible checkpoint mechanic, it's frustrating and kills immersion.

Crysis is still probably the best shooter out by a long shot; there hasn't been a game until now that allowed such freedom to approach a situation in so many different ways. Super stealthy or blow everything up? You choose. There are also other simple, often overlooked factors, like how you can sneak back into the thick jungle undergrowth after been spotted and enemies lose track of you, or how you have to actually pick up items, and you see it happen, rather than just running over ammo and picking it up. These are all little things that I score the game very highly on. It's not just about pretty graphics; it's an intelligent and immersive shooter.

The "Crysis is just another pretty face" meme is tiresome.

Anywho, both are fine games, and deserve all the praise they get! Love 'em both!

crysis overhipped utterly sheit game
Little excessive don't you think? Simply saying you didn't like it would have been enough.

Also, proofread much?

You could replay COD4 six times & each & everyone would be more or less identical, you can't venture far off the track in any direction, you can't even jump over a log. I have replayed Crysis half a dozen times & each one is completely different & I can't remember another game that has so much replay value, Roll on Farcry2 for hopefully endless replay

but then why cod 4 outsold crysis and crytec nearly made no profit and nearly quit developed games for pc:

Because cod4 has better story and better game play, yea there is few downfalls spawning enemy etc etc. and liner game play but crysis is not so free roam to as promised.

Graphics wise not everyone has pc to run crysis on all high or v.high. and crysis on medium just does not cut it compared with cod4.

cod4 has good multiplayer and with it comes more hours game play and people buy the original game instead of pirating.

it is more then simple. i dont know how crytec does not get it.

Good game play
Can run on medium gaming pc's
great multilayer

all above and u have great game an d good profit

Can't say I ever take much notice of a games graphics after more than a few minutes but Crysis did look fantastic. Found COD4 a lot more entertaining to play though.

Troll Rating: 3/10. A poor, unimaginative effort but some people will no doubt bite.
