cod4 xbox360...... infected?

hi have not played this since xmas but after recently playing the game I notice on public servers (death match and fee for all) that there is a lot of random game tampering going on

i.e. i will be playing the game and an "infected" user will join and alter the entire game i.e. unlimited auto fire , running around at 999 speed etc. Have also noticed these infected users sniping from the sky and underneath the maps

Of course this really spoils the game. i pay good money for xbox live and am suprised to see this level of hacking.

anyone else experieced this recently and is it likely that microsoft will resolve the situation?

It's common on both 360 and PS3. Lobbies where you unlock everything, ridiculous movement speed etc.

didn't notice this whatsoever over christmas.....yet over this weekend it was everywhere on the servers. only got a handful of good games.

This was really common on MW2 on PS3 a few months ago but it seems to be fixed now.

update - down ranked

unfortunatley after playing on a rather nasty infected server last night i have gone down from level 54 to level 1 with an xp of -100million

this makes the game impossible to play on xbox live as you need at least +1xp to play on-line.

microsoft say only way is to create a new account.

i took matters into my own hands contacted the hacker direct via xboxlive but was not helpful though after randomly messaging his coleagues (off the same infected server) i was invited into a private lobby and my level has now been re-instated albeit to the maximum possible !!...but at least i can play on-line agin.

the funniest thing was the helpful 'hacker' sounded to be about 10years old.

xbox are putting the issue in the developers hands to patch the game..infinity ward who apparantly have a team on it.

xbox at least are permabanning a lot of accounts

in the meantime i am still playing but jump out of any infected lobbies immediatley!

yes i did message fourtwozero on xbox but was reading on another forum about a guy waiting two months after messaging fourtwozero

though i should imagine he is a bit inundated with requests as well as a bit tied up with mw3
