Hello,

Basicly I though I had fixed this by disabling my 2nd screen, but it appears it wasn't that as I played with 2 screens enabled later on and now it happes also with just 1 screen:

When I start CoD4 mp be it from xfire or from a shortcut I get massive lag everywhere ( so also in menu etc) because the process ''system'' is choking up 50% of the cpu, resulting in 1-2 fps.

Any idea what's causing this? I disabled xfire ingame but it still happens.
I'm patched up and it appears sometimes and sometimes it's fine, although atm I tried joining a server 7 times and all 7 times the problem popped up. While earlier today I've joined 5 different servers and it was (I've played for an hour) OK.

Only happens in mp, SP module works fine 100% of the time.
When I exit the cod4 mp module it's back to normall again, when I start it: Again system choking up my cpu.

Please help , I want to play online lol.

EDIT: Rebooted, for now it's fine, however I don't want to have to reboot before playing cod4 mp for sake, anybody heard about anything like the problem I've described.

It could be a driver issue or some form of malware. Run a virus and spyware scan then update all of your drivers to see if it helps. Close all other programs before you run the game.

No pc is spyware free I regurally scan with ad-aware followed by spybot to finish after adaware.
And I've got Nod32 offcourse.

I had nothing open in particular after a lot of tries, as I closed everything, Only thing I can think of is UT3 wich I played earlier might have messed with the driver, but a reboot fixed it all tho, very odd still though.

It still happens and I can confirm it happens for me ALWAYS when I've played an UE3 ( be it GoW, Bioschock or UT3) game that particular boot, any UE3 game will cause CoD4 mp to do this still, reboot fixes it, other games eg. TDU or Supcom: FA are fine before cod4, they don't cause it .

Anybody else has this ?

Latest xfire is causing havok on loads of games including cod4, which i think is the problem as i have it too. Even if u turn the process off it somehow is still chuging the cpu.
